Video Chat

Since Canada's self-isolation orders demanded to avoid contact with people oustide of your home, I couldn't see and hang out with my friends anymore. Thus, we resorted to multiple other applications in order to maintain constant contact. We mostly texted though iMessage and Netflix Party and had video calls on FaceTime and occasionally on House Party. Below there are a few screenshots of those encounters where we could tell jokes, talk about our days and distract ourselves from the COVID-19 situation.

Netflix Party

During the quarantine, my group of friends and I decided to host online movie nights. Every friday we chose a time and a movie we would all watch together on Netflix thanks to a Chrome web extension called Netflix Party. The extension gives you a link you can share with your friends and it adds a comment section next to the movie you're watching. It plays on all screens at the same time and anyone can pause, rewind or start the movie. These are the movies we watched.

Texting

Since everyone isn't free at the same time, we often sent texts through iMessage throughout the day. Whether it was teasing one another or just notifying others about our day. Me and a couple of friends have a groupchat tiled "movie night" where it first started as a group where we could decide when to watch our movies, but then turned into a day to day chat. It's a great way to not only maintain contact but also a great source of laughs.
